I am Caitlin Kendall – Welcome to my e-portfolio.
Hey everyone! I am currently in my 5th year of study at the University of Regina. I just graduated with my Bachelor of Arts, with a major in Sociology and minors in Religious Studies and Indigenous Studies. I am now currently taking the Bachelor of Education After Degree Program (BEAD) for Elementary Education. I am from a very small town called Carrot River and have been living in Regina for the past 4 years. I enjoy spending time with friends/family, snowboarding, travelling, seeing live music, and practicing guitar, among many other things. I have thoroughly enjoyed my educational journey thus far and look forward to becoming an educator in the future.
I have studied the liberal arts for much of my educational journey with focuses in Sociology, Religious Studies, and Indigenous Studies. This has given me strong foundation for my passion towards social justice, equity, diversity and inclusion. I believe that all people should be seen, heard, and valued in this world, regardless of who they are or where they come from.
I have a deep concern for taking care of our environment. I truly feel that connecting with nature plays a major part in humans’ physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. Spending time in nature is grounding, freeing, and creates an appreciation for our home, the earth, and the life that we live. I truly believe that the world would be a better place is everyone got outside and breathed in the fresh air each and every day.
I have taken part in many forms of the arts all through out my life in visual arts, dance, drama, music, and literature through poetry and writing. I believe that the infusion of arts into all faucets of life increase personal connection, real world awareness, deep understanding, and individual creativity and expression. The arts are an essential aspect of human life that allow us to discover who we are and why we are here.
I have a passion for the connection between living an active lifestyle and overall health. It is truly so important to look after our bodies, and a huge part of this is in moving our bodies. Sports, yoga, pilates, going for a walk, bike ride, hiking, swimming, stretching, etc. – It truly feels so good to get out and move our bodies. Not only is this a wonderful way to de-stress, but it also gives an appreciation for all that our bodies do for us that can often be taken for granted.

I currently work at the YWCA Childcare Centre as an ECE. I have also worked at Montessori School and volunteered at 7 Stones Community School and Carrot River Elementary School. I have experiences working with many different students at varying levels of age, ability, needs, expectations, etc. in a variety of settings. These experiences have contributed to my passion for working with children and helping people. I love being a part of children’s learning and watching them grow.
Involved Member of my Community

All throughout school I was always extremely involved. I played sports, took dance and gymnastics, was in yearbook club and BOSS (Board of School Spirit). I also loved to volunteer and work to serve the people in my community. In my years of becoming an adult life has gotten more and more busy, but I try my best to volunteer and stay involved when I can. This is something I am constantly working on doing more and more of again.
2015 – Present
I have a lot of experience working in a restaurant setting in many different establishments and locations. I have been a fine dining server at resorts such as Cathedral Mountain Lodge and Elk Ridge Resort, as well as a regular server/bartender at family restaurants like Boston Pizza and Venice House. I have worked with a variety of different coworkers and interacted with guests from all over the world. These experiences have made me a hardworking, personable, and quick problem solver.

Travelling the world, meeting all different types of people, and having new experiences is a huge passion of mine. I have travelled to many parts of Canada, the United States, and Mexico and met so many wonderful people with so many stories to tell throughout my experiences. I plan to travel so much more in my future to expand my horizons, see and learn about the world, and meet new people. Next stop – East Asia!
Let’s make something together.
